Description:

The Senior Revenue Accountant will be a critical part of the company’s end-to-end revenue closing process, from order to invoicing to collections and revenue recognition. In this challenging role, you will improve the efficiency and effectiveness of close processes, work cross-functionally with legal, sales, corporate accounting and finance to develop and enhance internal revenue systems, take ownership in management of key revenue controls and policy, and be involved in supporting major projects that impact the entire accounting organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform day-to-day revenue arrangement closing and billing process
  • Partner with Sales Operations, Deal Desk and Legal to ensure that new arrangements, projects or partnerships maintain compliance with the Company’s revenue recognition policies
  • Prepare journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations and flux analysis at month-end close
  • Perform collections and cash applications
  • Be a key contributor to the Company’s implementation of and transition to ASC 606
  • Review and document non-standard revenue arrangements as part of the monthly close
  • Assist with accounting for contract acquisition costs, review commission payments for accuracy and accounting treatment in accordance with ASC 340
  • Help maintain the revenue recognition policy for changes in the business or for new product lines, and keep management updated of any new policies or projects
  • Partner with various departments to design system enhancements, process changes, and other improvements in order to achieve scalability and to support new business initiatives
  • Participate in the deal review process for non-standard arrangements, reseller agreements, partnerships and any other revenue-generating events
  • Potential for this role to take on other technical oriented accounting projects such as accounting for financial reporting, stock-based compensation, capitalized software, etc
  • Support external audit requests

Job Requirements:

  • Knowledge of revenue recognition in US GAAP under 606
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • CPA License
  • 3-5 years professional experience in Accounting or Revenue Accounting
  • Public Accounting experience required; Big 4 accounting experience preferred
  • Excellent analytical and interpersonal skills
  • Preferred systems experience: SFDC, Zuora, Netsuite, Revpro
  • Strong Excel skills
  • A solutions-oriented team player who enjoys a dynamic work environment
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to meet tight deadlines
